چکیده

The multi antenna systems offer a much larger channel capacity than the traditional single antenna systems. The price which has to be extra paid is detection complexity. In this paper we examine performance of the low complexity algorithm called zero forcing–maximum likelihood (ZFML) [5]. We find this algorithm appropriate for MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) systems using more receive than transmit antennas. For the 2x4 VBLAST (Vertical Bell-Labs Layered Space-Time) MIMO system almost maximum likelihood (ML) performance is achieved. To overcome large performance gaps in NxN MIMO systems, some modifications of the algorithm are needed. In future, we intend to upgrade this algorithm to allow for iterative decoding in turbo MIMO systems.

A Soft-Input Soft-Output Target Detection Algorithm for Passive Radar

Abstract: This paper proposes a novel scheme for multi-static passive radar processing, based on soft-input soft-output processing and Bayesian sparse estimation. In this scheme, each receiver estimates the probability of target presence based on its received signal and the prior information received from a central processor. The resulting posterior target probabilities are transmitted to the c...

Low-complexity near-optimal signal detection for uplink large-scale MIMO systems

ELECT The minimum mean square error (MMSE) signal detection algorithm is near-optimal for uplink multi-user large-scale multiple-input–multiple-output (MIMO) systems, but involves matrix inversion with high complexity. It is firstly proved that the MMSE filtering matrix for large-scale MIMO is symmetric positive definite, based on which a low-complexity near-optimal signal detection algorithm b...

Low Complexity Detection using Likelihood Based Tree Search for Large MIMO Systems

A low complexity detection algorithm for Large MIMO systems is presented using a Likelihood based tree search algorithm. It outperforms the controlled Branch and Bound algorithm, which itself performs much better than other heuristic techniques for detection in Large MIMO systems. A novel metric is used for tree branching and the computational complexity is considerably reduced using various tr...

Tree-Based Adaptive Spatial Detection for Adaptive Modulated MIMO Systems "Best of R&D Track"

Adaptive Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) systems achieve a much higher information rate than conventional fixed schemes due to their ability to adapt their configurations according to the wireless communications environment. However, current adaptive MIMO detection schemes exhibit either low performance (and hence low spectral efficiency) or huge computational complexity. In particular, w...

Linear Approximation Signal Detection Scheme in MIMO-OFDM Systems

In this paper, a linearly approximate signal detection scheme is proposed in multiple input multiple output-orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (MIMO-OFDM) systems. The huge MIMO-OFDM system, which uses many transmit antennas and high order modulation, requires a detection scheme at the receiver with very low complexity for practical implementation. In the proposed detection scheme, one ...
